Mala, one of Dubstep's founding fathers, dusts off a classic from his indelible Deep Medi Musik label for the first time since its 2007 release with this reissue of Loefah and Coki’s ‘Disco Rekah’ / ‘All of a Sudden’ split. One of the label’s earliest releases, and one of its most sought after, this record’s seen as part of the golden era of dubstep by many, evidenced by the DMZ trio’s enduring stamp on subwoofers across the globe.

With 'Disco Rekah' infamously deemed a dud by Loefah himself, Mala saved the legendary track from wasting away on a forgotten hard drive to inevitably becoming the lethal weapon at dances across London and eventually sub-bass circles worldwide. Hard to believe this one was almost lost in the vaults, with its ironclad thunderclaps and beats ticking patiently till the bass wobble depth charges detonated a minute in. Whilst cutting up a highly effective Busta Rhymes sample, Loefah layers up the drums with subtle lasers skittering in the background.

Make no mistake, Coki's B side ‘All of a Sudden’ is no slouch either, slinking in similar fashion with a mean reverberating sub bassline that sounds kinda like alien aircraft. Those robust, vigorous rhythms are even more sparse than their flipside counterpart, accompanied solely by a quiet synth line in the back, making the sounds on this one even heavier when cutting through the noise of any sets blessed to bear these deep grooves.
