The very first release from Dais Records is back in print for the first time in 17 years, and it’s a special one: previously lost recordings from the archives of Genesis P-Orridge, Early Worm is a vital piece to the puzzle of one of industrial music’s most important figures. These lo-fi ethereal recordings hint at the abstract experiments that would soon come from COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, and beyond, recorded in 1968 by a troop of friends who sought to leave structure and musical rules. Candid laughter fills the attic studio as poetry readings speed up to fit in the syllables, while strange and ghostly folk arrangements waltz with creaky plucks and accordion sighs.
