Performed as a multichannel sound piece since his 2023 You Origin concerts in Carnac, Brittany 'But remember what you have had' is a longform multiphonic electroacoustic exploration of the Sunn O))) members artistic proclivities and musical histories marking his debut on the vital Portraits GRM series, for which he has handled the sleeve design for since its founding by Editions Mego and INA GRM, the legendary centre for electroacoustic music and sound in Paris. A lonesome note is slowly joined by layers upon layers of brass and wind, expanding the track’s presence until its solemnly anthemic poise is sparked into action by the thundercrack of feedback worshipping guitars quivering with distortion. The piece drifts into moments of harmonic intrigue as timbres and instruments merge, guiding each other through the movements before settling into searing tangles of sound.
