After an almost decade long hiatus, Earth returned in 2005 with a new core duo of Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies to completely reinvent the mammoth tones of their 90s legacy. Slack strums and drums with heaps of air in between dominate the desert landscapes of Hex, bookmarked by wind chime ambience broken by imposing, foreboding ritual drums. Heat wafts from bluesy guitars dusted in tremolo and swung rhythms, melting in twangy harmonic shreds, and bass plucks that seem to wobble for eternity.
