After presenting their debut self-titled album Orbital in 1991, Orbital returned two years later with... Orbital! The Brown Album was an evolution for the Hartnoll brothers’ far reaching rave, refining their fledgling techno stardom with newly explored atmospherics enhancing the robust, roaring club beats. Incorporating globally sourced sounds from looping chants to churning didgeridoo, the album gradually builds a rave euphoria through bustling boxing rhythms, synth zipping from ear to ear, and gliding mosquito strings, culminating in the peak brightness of ‘Halcyon + On + On’ warping Opus III’s ‘It’s A Fine Day’ into continuous bliss.

  • Reissued on vinyl for the first time in a decade, The Brown Album has been cut at half speed, to ensure maximum audio fidelity for this landmark release.
